Just Keep TRI-ing

I first took up triathlon as cross trainings and I also need some distractions from running when I plateaued. Then I realized this is what I really want. I fell in love with the sport and like every triathletes I too want to set my feet on the Big Island for Ironman World Championship someday (maybe by winning my AG when I am 70)

Kamus Loghat Muar / Tangkak

Aku dilahirkan di Muar (Muo kata orang Muar) dan dibesarkan di Tangkak. Walaupun bahasa melayu diambil daripada bahasa Johor/Riau, tetapi orang-orang Muar dan Tangkak mempunyai gaya bahasa yang sedikit berbeza apabila bertutur. Arwah Tok Tan aku misalnya, mempunyai gaya loghat yang 'distinctively Tangkak'. Banyak perkataan-perkataan yang biasa dituturkan masyarakat Muar dan Tangkak yang aku telah lupa. Jadi sebagai tribute untuk Arwah Tok Tan dan orang-orang Muar / Tangkak, aku akan cuba untuk menyenaraikan sebanyak mungkin perkataan dalam loghat Muar / Tangkak apabila aku teringat. Ampar (sebutan Am-po) = Hamparan, permaidani Anu = Si folan = Dia ke tangkak dengan si anu tu, anak Noh Itik. Basan = pakaian basahan , pakaian harian Berlengas = Badan melekit Bersendor = Berdengkur Berteromba (sebut beteghombe) = Bermain-main, berlari-lari dan bersuka ria (kebiasaan oleh anak-anak kecil dalam rumah), Centong = Senduk Endut = kekasih - Kau dah ada endut ...

Hujan Emas di Qatar

Lately makin ramai pula kawan-kawan rapat aku di Doha ni yang pulang ke Malaysia for good. Kadang-kadang rasa macam dah tak best pula tinggal di sini bila satu demi satu teman-teman yang rapat pergi. Baru-baru ni Rizal dan Zakiah meninggalkan Doha for good. Rasa sedih sangat, kerana Rizal adalah kawan pertama aku di Doha ni. Dia yang mengenalkan aku pada kawan-kawan Doha yang lain. Aku datang Doha ini pun setelah membaca blognya, 1001 Kisah Melayu Perantau , yang memberi inspirasi dan keinginan untuk mencuba nasib di Qatar Darul Land Cruiser ni. Good Luck Rizal and Zakiah Kontrak aku dengan Qatargas ni pun akan tamat bulan November ni. Tak pasti dapat sambung ke tidak, kerana aku ni 'project based'. Triclub Doha Aquathlon 8

Nikki Beach, The Pearl Qatar 23 April 2016 My post Ironman blues was so severe after South Africa. I already did two mini races in less than two weeks, the Aspire Aquathlon and TriClub Duathlon. Now is the third. It is the 8th and second last aquathlon of the season by TriClub Doha. I just could not say no to it, plus it was a farewell race to one of our good friends at the tri club, John Denning. Swim (1000 m) The water has warmed up in Doha so it was a non wetsuit race. Being a leg sinker, I was struggling to keep up with the others to draft on and found myself in a no man's territory. I was being lapped by most people and was among the last exited the water (22nd of 29 starters). I completed the 1000m in 20:51 (2:05 min/100m). Ironman Malaysia 2017 Race Report By Mohd Syafei Bin Ahmad My 3rd full distance medal, and the it is most beautiful one Intro It took me almost two weeks to finally sit and write this race report. I still feel the highs from the race and can’t move on from all the excitement I had in Langkawi two weeks ago. Ironman Malaysia is like an unofficial national championship for Malaysian triathletes. Almost everyone I know from the local Tri community descended on the island to battle it out for the bragging rights to finish an Ironman or finishing among the top Malaysian finishers on home soil. I would say everyone must be proud to earn their Ironman title in Langkawi. It is among the toughest Iron distance courses in the world for crying out loud. I personally took this race very seriously. My goals were to PB, complete the race in less than 12 hours and finish among the top 20 Malaysian. Dukhan Triathlon Series 2016/2017 (Race 1)

(Super Sprint) Dukhan Triathlon has traditionally been a season opener for triathlon in Qatar. Every triathletes in the land will converge to Dukhan on Qatar's west coast to see how they fare against their peers after a long summer (off season for us here desert dwellings). With just about everyone turn up you bet it will be very competitive. Swim The swim was really fun. The water was quite choppy for Qatar's standard but was really clean and crystal clear. Having used to rolling start in triathlon races, the mass start for this short 570m swim provided us with a rare opportunity of the chaos associated with the swim start of the good old days in triathlon. The beach was quite shallow for good 50m. I started with running high knees then did a good 6-7 dolphin dives and managed to latched on Francis's (one of my QA_TRI's team mate) feet.
